We're watching Major League Baseball tonight (NY Yankees against the Toronto Blue Jays). During a discussion of NY shortstop Derek Jeter's celebrity and bachelor status when Jeter was at bat in the bottom of the 4th inning, ESPN Commentator Oriel Hershiser said, "He obviously dates women who keep their mouths shut." We were taken aback; it will probably pass without much media attention, but we were transported to a mythic, prehistoric era when women were made to stay "in their place." Somebody should remind Mr. Hershiser that we live in the 21st Century now, when sexism ought to be as out-of-bounds as racism.

Did He Really Just Say That?!
