This seeming routine appointment, and more particularly, Mayor Karl Dean's passion for it, have got me troubled. It seems fair to ask at this point whether there is a connection between Mayor Dean's support of Chris Whitson, darling of the Nashville Business Coalition, and the sucking-up fundraiser that at least one NBC leader sponsored for Karl Dean last fall.
I expressed my hope that it would not be a bad sign about the Dean Administration. My concern that it was a bad sign is even stronger now.
