This TennViews rumor feels like getting socked in the throat. An inspiring speaker makes an uninspired choice? If this is true, either the Obama campaign is starting to feel a lack of ability to pull in Republican votes or it is overestimating the national draw of the Bredesen name. If Gore couldn't put Tennessee in the Dem column at the top of the ticket, why would should we assume that Phil Bredesen will carry it at the bottom?
Surely this is R. Neal's idea of a cruel April Fool's joke. But even a pulled leg presents an occasion to skewer a bad idea.
